Terms of use
Last updated 10 October 2026. These terms are between you and The Jobsmith team (“we”, “us”), which runs Jobsmith. By creating an account or using Jobsmith you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use it.
What Jobsmith is
Jobsmith helps you prepare job applications: it reads your resume, suggests edits to tailor it to a job, drafts answers to application questions, tracks applications, prepares you for interviews and lists jobs from public job boards. It uses AI to do some of this.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 and give us a real email address you control.
- You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access.
- One person per account. Don’t create accounts to collect free credits repeatedly.
Your content
Your resume, profile, notes and answers stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Jobsmith for you, including sending the text needed for an AI request to our AI providers. We never sell your content and never use it to train AI models. Read how we handle it in the Privacy Policy.
Only upload things you have the right to use. Don’t upload other people’s personal data unless you have a good reason and the right to do so (for example, a reference’s name and contact details you’re entitled to share).
AI output and your responsibility
AI can be wrong. Jobsmith is built to only use facts from your own resume and answers, and to show every change with a reason so you can accept or reject it. But you are responsible for everything you send to an employer. Check every line, make sure it is true, and don’t claim experience you don’t have. We don’t guarantee interviews, job offers or any particular result.
Acceptable use
- No unlawful, fraudulent or misleading use, including submitting false qualifications or experience.
- No attempts to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or to bypass limits, credits or rate limits.
- No automated scraping of Jobsmith, and no using it to harass or spam anyone.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with or without notice if needed to protect the service or other people.
Credits and payments
- AI features use credits. What each action costs is shown in Settings. Searching, the tracker, editing and downloads are free.
- New accounts get a one-time starting balance, and free credits top up to a small daily amount. Free credits have no cash value, don’t add up, and we can change or pause them at any time (for example when demand is high).
- Credits you buy don’t expire. Payments are processed by Paystack in Nigerian naira; we never see your card details.
- If an AI action fails, its credits are returned automatically.
- You can ask for a refund of credits you bought and haven’t used within 14 days of buying them. Email us. Used credits aren’t refundable.
- We may change prices and pack sizes. A change never affects credits you’ve already bought.
Job listings and third-party services
Job listings come from public job boards and belong to those boards and employers; each links back to the original. We don’t check listings and we aren’t part of any hiring process. Jobsmith relies on third-party services (hosting, AI, payments, email) and may be unavailable when they are.
Availability and changes
We try to keep Jobsmith running but provide it “as is”, without promises that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or end features, and we’ll give reasonable notice of anything that affects your data.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, which removes your data and files. You can also download a copy of your data first. We may close accounts as described above.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities or lost earnings, or for decisions employers make. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits liability that can’t legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, but if you’re a consumer elsewhere you keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it applies. Using Jobsmith afterwards means you accept the new terms.
